Singing Stone Gallery is proud to present Handmade in America, a juried exhibition featuring handmade fine art and contemporary craft. This show exhibits a wide array of the handmade, which is rich in traditions and expressive of regional craft artisans, and their contributions to Americaīs cultural heritage. The juried exhibition will showcase contemporary jewelry, photography, paintings, glass, fiber, ceramics, metals, sculpture, and mixed media handcrafted by American Artists.

The Handmade in America Exhibit Opening Reception is on Wednesday, July 4th, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. The exhibit runs throughout the summer, until Saturday, September 1st, 2012. This is an independent exhibition running concurrent with the Republican National Convention, Aug 27 - 30, 2012.

Singing Stone is a working studio and gallery featuring Dan Balk designer jewelry, eclectic contemporary craft and fine art produced by local artisans. The Gallery is owned and managed by Nataly Balk, who takes pride in exhibiting and supporting local and regional artistsī work. Singing Stone Gallery presents Art on 19th St., on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Art on 19th St., now in its 2nd year, is held on the first Saturday of each month. This event will feature local ceramic artists Jason and Jennifer Lachtara. Meet the artists, watch them create their art, order custom pieces or choose from a wide selection, and buy handmade. Jason will be featuring his hand-crafted ceramic lanterns with LED lights. His functional pottery has unique designs to light up any room. Jennifer creates colorful, handcafted ceramic barware, dinnerware, and home decor. Each piece is made on the potters wheel and is decorated with colors that complement and enhance the eating and drinking experience. Singing Stone carries these collections and is honored to display their pieces for exhibition and sale. During Art on 19th St., Singing Stone Gallery opens its doors to the local art community. The Gallery provides a platform for emerging artists, crafters and musicians to offer one-of-a-kind, handmade art including custom orders.

The collection of fine contemporary jewelry by local designer and goldsmith, Dan Balk, will be on display during the event. Balk designs and fabricates every piece of jewelry from raw materials in his studio at Singing Stone. Danīs expanding Summer Collection is for sale and on exhibit at the Gallery. Each piece is one of a kind, designed by Dan, who creates his own Sterling Silver, 18K and 14K gold alloys that he fashions, mills, forges, fuses and brazes into miniature sculptures for personal adornment. Dan selects and sets each stone, often performing his own lapidary work on select stones. This allows Dan complete contact and artistic connection with each piece of fine art jewelry from concept to collection.
