The Florida International Museum has become the premier museum in Florida for presenting world-class, blockbuster exhibitions with attendance since 1995 at over one million visitors from all 50 states and over 100 countries. The museum was organized in 1992 for the purpose of creating a major cultural center within a 300,000 square foot former department store building that has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. The museum is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing educational exhibitions. To date, over 150,000 school children have toured the museum. Call for information on current exhibits. OPENING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1998 The EMPIRES of MYSTERY exhibition will feature the largest exhibition of Peruvian artifacts ever to travel to the United States and will span several thousand years of history, including rituals, Mummy in fetal position, tied with rope. artistry, warfare and daily lifestyle of some of the most complex and sophisticated civilizations ever known in the Western Hemisphere. Directions:

The Museum is conveniently located just a few blocks off the interstate in downtown St. Petersburg. From Interstate 275 take exit #10- (I-375 East) to Fourth Street North (second traffic light off the highway). Turn right. Go two blocks to Second Avenue North and turn left.
