Annual USF-SE Balsa Bridge Competition Today

We are back with the annual USF-SE Balsa Bridge Competition! Register a team to a bridge based on the established rules and guidelines, build it, and compete to see which bridge can withstand the most weight before collapsing. Kids have fun throughout the whole process and learn valuable skills in teamwork and engineering. Winners will be eligible for an S3 Scholarship provided by the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA). The competition is open to middle and high school students enrolled in a Hillsborough or Pinellas county school. Not on a team? Come cheer one on! This FREE family event is part of the USF Engineering Expo, which seeks to educate K-12 students on the importance of math, science, engineering, and technology within their lives through displays and projects for student interaction and enhanced learning in the sciences and engineering.
